Privacy Policy

What we collect

  • Account details: name, email and a securely hashed password.
  • Content you submit: video links, transcripts and the outputs we generate.
  • Billing status from Stripe (we never see or store card numbers).
  • Basic usage logs for security and to enforce plan limits.

Video files and transcription

Clip previews and renders run in your browser. If you choose automatic transcription, your browser extracts a compressed audio track; only that audio is sent to our server, passed to our transcription provider (OpenAI), and deleted from our server immediately after processing. The video file itself is not uploaded.

YouTube and Google user data

If you connect your YouTube channel, we request read access through Google's OAuth (scope youtube.force-ssl, which YouTube requires for caption downloads). We use it only to show your channel name and your list of uploads, and to download captions for videos you choose to repurpose (or, if you turn on auto-import, for your new public uploads). We never upload, edit or delete anything on your channel.

We store your channel ID, name and thumbnail and an encrypted access token. Captions you import are stored as the transcript of the project you create. We don't sell this data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models, and humans don't read it except when you ask us for support or the law requires it. Echoreel's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Disconnect anytime from Studio → YouTube, which revokes our access and deletes the stored tokens, or remove access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Deleting your account deletes all of it. Use of YouTube data is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.

AI processing

Transcripts are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate outputs. Under its commercial terms, API inputs are not used to train its models.

Cookies

We use one essential session cookie to keep you signed in. Analytics, if enabled, are disclosed here.

Your rights

You can export or delete your content and close your account at any time from Account settings, or by emailing admin@echoreel.net.
